Christmas Cards, AAA and Moe’s Southwest Grill.

Hola Lemmings! Have you missed me? I have some draft posts in the works for you to enjoy very soon. In the meantime, this is the latest post from Camouflage Christmas. It’s a nonprofit Mini-Me & The Weez started in 2007. We hit our goal this year!! Come Tuesday (12/3/13), we will have sent OVER 20,000 Christmas cards to military men/women serving overseas. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Camouflage Christmas

Today started like any other Camouflage Christmas Sunday. We arrive at church at the crack of dawn and set up the table from which folks can fill out Christmas cards. This Sunday is the Sunday following Thanksgiving. Historically, it’s Camouflage Christmas’ largest donation day. I speak with the priest beforehand to request permission to make a special announcement during the service, “PLEASE TURN IN YOUR CARDS TODAY. MAILING IS TUESDAY.”

As the service begins, I become distracted. I’m counting cards in my head, thinking of all that has to be done TODAY. Then, I hear the day’s bible passage. “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law” (Rom. 13:8). THIS IS IT! This is why Camouflage Christmas continues each year. We truly want to show God’s love/our love to the service men and women overseas. What sacrifices…

You’re on Your Own, Folks.

Y’all, it’s going to be a rough November. I have so many draft posts, but none are ready for your viewing pleasure. BELIEVE ME. I want nothing more than to write for you all day, but I can’t. Wait, yes I can. I am now accepting donations. Please send me all your money so I don’t have to go to work and I can write for you and make you laugh and give you someone at which to laugh. Again, I’m doing it all for you.

“But Caroline,” you say. “What’s keeping you from me?” “Oh Darling, I’m so sorry. I want to be with you. I want to stimulate your funny bone and make you smile. It’s Camouflage Christmas.” I reply.

Camouflage Christmas officially kicked off it’s 7th Annual Campaign this past weekend. Camo Christmas is a l’il non-profit Mini-Me, The Weez & I started in 2007. We have a huge goal for this year. We’re aiming to break 20,000 Christmas cards and I’m slightly overwhelmed; hence, you will be neglected. We’re based in SC, but there are folks in VA, OH and TX helping. Businesses, churches, community groups and schools have been recruited. I promise you’re my favorite red-headed step-child, but right now, I have to focus on Camouflage Christmas. Apparently, I’m the only one who knows how to draft a powerpoint and publisher flyer. I truly hope you understand.

I’ll do what I can to send you some funny lovin’ but I make no promises. It’s not you, it’s me. I will feed your need on Facebook and Twitter (@acarolinemcl). So all you have to do to get your fix is find/follow me there! First sample is free. You’ll like it, I promise. You get what you pay for.

Oh, one more thing, SUPPORT Camouflage Christmas. You don’t have to be in South Carolina to participate. You can start it on your own in your hometown or partner with us. I’ll hold your hand through the process.  I promise, it’s worth it to send some love to a service man/woman that’s sacrificing so much while serving in our military.

Camouflage Christmas

So when I’m not picking on babies or admiring my eyebrows, I fill out Christmas cards.  Yes, even when it’s not Christmas.  See?  I’m not completely heartless.

Mini-Me, The Weez, and I started a non-profit in 2007 called Camouflage Christmas.  We send Christmas cards to service men and women serving overseas during the Christmas holidays.  To date, we have sent 16,422 Christmas cards.  We triple count, so I’m sure that is an exact number.  No one cares that I may be counting cards in the wee hours of the morning while enjoying a bottle glass of cheap Californian Chardonnay.

I’d love  it, my girls would love  it, many Camouflage Christmas volunteers would love  it . . . so why not just do IT?  IT is to FOLLOW the Camouflage Christmas blog, LIKE Camouflage Christmas on Facebook, and follow Camouflage Christmas on Twitter (@CamoChristmas).  After you’ve done those 3 steps, then DONATE Christmas cards, WRITE Christmas cards, HOST an event and PAT yourself on the back because you helped make a soldier’s day a little brighter.

I admit, there is an ulterior motive behind this solicitation for your services.  I’m worried that I’m developing carpal tunnel.  You can save me from this by writing as many Christmas cards as possible so I don’t have to OR you can pay for the corrective surgery.  Where should I send the bill?

Camouflage Christmas 7th Annual Campaign starts Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 3.
